Removing the factory nipples broke the wrench on the first try. For reference it's a newer cylinder with less then 20 shots with it.

Any tool used beyond its intended purpose or improperly can/will break. We have seen some brand new revolvers with nipples tightened so tight I swear a gorilla installed them. Our wrench will remove those over tightened nipples if used properly. The key in using the tool is to keep it square on the nipple so an even pressure is applied to both sides of the wrench when loosening. FYI: We promptly sent a replacement wrench.

Didn't fit my #10 nipples on Colt walker stripped all.

The nipple wrench is designed to work on ALL replica revolvers and MOST originals. The Original Colt Walker is a beast of its own. The wrench will work fine on the Replica Uberti Walker/Dragoon.

This wrench does not work with San Marco Dragoon nipples. After modification, 5 nipples were removed before wrench broke.

As stated in the Description Box the wrench is designed to fit most but not all nipples. There are some older version nipples that were designed with an odd size but 99% of the time our wrench will fit and work great as stated in all the reviews we get.

Can't seem to make it work on the ruger old army.

You are correct… this wrench will NOT work on the Ruger Old Army stock nipples. This is Clearly stated in the Description box on the product page. It will however work with our Slixshot replacement nipples for the Ruger.

Bent on first gun I used it on (1849 Colt Pocket). My fault? Maybe. But I expected much more from this company.
Best nipples and nipple wrench in the business for my money. This item-not so much.

Wrench wouldn’t loosen the 2 nipples. Gun was brand new & unfired.

We have seen some brand new revolvers with over tightened nipples straight out of the factory. Just give it some more torque… they will come out. Also make sure the wrench is square on the nipple when removing. When replacing them make sure to use some anti-seize compound on the threads and just snug them down ever so lightly. I don’t see how the poor rating of the wrench is given when it is clearly the gun manufacturers fault. Maybe give them a poor rating.

Works on nipples that are just snug. When trying to remove some that are stuck tight started rounding off edges of tool. Did more damage to tool than the nipples. Don't know if it will work anymore. If so will just stick with the cheaper ones.

It is highly recommended to use some kind of anti seize compound on the nipple threads prior to inserting them into the cylinder so future removal is effortless. Nipples should be removed periodically anyway to clean and reapply more anti seize compound. The tool is built to prevent destroying the nipples. If the nipples are stuck so bad then soaking them in solvent, rust remover, etc, is highly recommend before trying to remove them. The cheaper tool would have just broke before a nipple could be removed.

I bought the nipple wrench hopping it would hold up under the torque required to remove tight nipples so far it has. Also, it fits SLIX nipples good but not regular nipples.

Well the idea is to remove the stock nipples and only use Slixshot nipples with our Slix Wrench.

So I installed my new nipples/cones on my Remington replica with my new wrench.
It worked nicely for all except one. A little penetrating oil straightened that right up. I get better torque with the SliX wrench than my older model from CVA. It also seems to fit the nipples better. Thanks for a nice tool that fits in with the other possibles.

Fits SliXshot nipples snugly and seems well-made and durable. Works well for what it's intended to do, but would be an even better tool if the other arms were screwdrivers of varying sizes, or maybe if one was brass-tipped to safely tap out barrel wedges on Colt-style BP guns.

Unfortunately the nipples didn't fit my 1862 police but I was warned of that possibility previous to my purchase. I can use them on a another gun.

I had 3 cylinders with stuck nipples. I constructed a homemade device that locked the cylinders and affixing a beak vise grip to the Slixshot wrench gave me the leverage to free the nipples. I cleaned the threads the reassembled the nipples to the cylinders.
I posted my results on a few BP Facebook and MeWe groups.

Great wrench, easier to use for tough stuck nipples. I was still unable to get some stuck nipple out and bent the edges of the wrench trying.

Still a great product and would highly recommend over almost all others I’ve tried

Our Nipple Wrench is heat treated to a Rockwell 48-52 hardness. This is plenty hard to remove most stuck nipples. If existing nipples are so stuck (either from rust, corrosion or over tightened) then we HIGHLY recommend soaking the cylinder a rust/thread penetrant of some kind for a few days and try again. Any tool that is used beyond what it’s designed for can/will break.

Works for all the revolver nipples.
This has replaced both of my store-bought wrenches which are junk and made of butter metal.
Just wish this wrench had a musket cap size square drive on it too.

You can FEEL the difference in quality if you own others to compare it to. Invaluable tool to own if you have BP revolvers and will probably last a lifetime. Only ONE minor eensy weensy gripe. No nipple pick included but not a big deal. I just snagged the pick off of Traditions wrench before I tossed it in the spare parts box.

T handle gives plenty of torque for dealing with rusted/ corroded old firearms. Long shaft gives plenty of clearance and better feel for those with larger hands, no scrapped knuckles as with short wrenches

I like it so far way better then that one made by traditions for sure....but kinda expensive for what it is honestly

Unfortunately you can’t have it both ways. Cheap and Good don’t go together. Our products are made in the USA… hence the price. We could offer them at lower prices if we had them made in China. Then it would be Cheap and NO Good.

Just got the Slix-Wrench a few weeks ago... Removed and replaced the nipples on a few percussion revolvers...This last one (Uberti 1860) had a couple of tight nipples...and as a result, the wrench did give way and the ends of the lug "peeled" and now the wrench seems to slip on any nipple that is tight...I will probably need to order a replacement.

I will say that these two nipples WERE pretty stuck...but I also hoped this wrench would last more than three nipple swaps... Willing to try another one.

There is no nipple wrench that will fit everything. Ours was designed primarily to fit most but not all “original” revolver nipples. It will of course fit ALL of ours. It won’t fit some of the “original” Walker/Dragoon nipples or the larger rifle nipples.

Beginner in cap&ball. Heard about stripped screws and nipples and saw your product used on Youtube. Got the wrench today and immediately tried it.This thing works!
