Does not fit well on 1849 colt by uberti. 1849 has super short loading lever...to get most out of it i use eras gone conicals. This slixhand just bent the lever all to heck. Because of the short lever and the desire to use conical the 1849 needs a slixhand that fits well to distribut leverage. This 1849 is getting more popular and seeing more of them. Id made a silxhand for it spcificly that fits it... probably a flatstock that could be sandcasted....out of scrap aluminium

We have since made a modification to the Hand to better assist in its use with the short loading levers. We sent the customer a revised version and he said it worked much better. If you have one of the original ones it will work fine, just don’t use either one of the slots when sliding it over the loading lever. The updated version has a "small" cutout for the Pocket Models.

This is a very well made product for adding leverage to the ramming lever. However, it fits my Pietta 1860 Army somewhat loosely and is not really that useful for leverage although it does make it easier on the hand when doing a lot of reloading. Would definitely be nice for a pistol with a short lever. So, I would definitely recommend it for shorter ramming levers.

Yes, it works like it should on several cap and ball pistols. Both ends work for some pistols (1851 Navy), so use which ever end you like best.
I bought this because i damaged my Captain Schaffer model using a socket and extension. No more damage and ease of loading using either end of the tool. What’s not to like?

MY .44cal Pietta M1851 (new) so called "Sheriff's Model" is very difficult to load because it requires shearing a ring of lead off a .451 ball with a 2.5" lever under a 5" barrel.
This SliX Hand tool fits the Colt design lever perfectly and makes loading Easy.

I have purchased nipples and nipple wrench previously extremely pleased with fit and function.
2nd purchase was short rammer assist and 6 more nipples. Have not yet used rammer assist, nipples fit perfect in older uberti 44 revolver. Cylinder barrel gap is a slightly tighter but again functional and not rubbing the finish on front of cylinder.

I tried this item on my 1851 Colt Sheriff. I bent the latching end of the loading lever down. I modified the Hand to get a better grip on the lever and I thought I had the problem solved. I was wrong. Slixprings worked with me on the problem and even offered to buy me a new loading lever. Bottom line, I would not use this product on a short barreled pistol. I have the Slixprings nipples on my guns and they are great. But I can not endorse this product.

Bought this for a short barrel ‘51 Colt. I can see how that short lever would dig into the middle of my palm without this sturdy-but-light tool. Yeah, it takes up a little space in the loading box but I’d buy it all over again.

The nipples fit my 1861 Navy 36cal, piettas. Tried number 11 caps and they fit fine. Have not got to the range yet.

I originally purchased it to use on a short-barreled revolver but I have not been able to get one yet. I have been using it on normal barreled revolvers and it makes seating the balls so much easier.

I have a couple of short-loading lever cap & ball revolvers, like the "Capt. Schaffer" model 1851, where you don't get any leverage whatsoever from the dinky loading lever. The "SliX Hand" fixes that issue perfectly! No more cut palms!

Why it took me so long to get this tool is beyond me. No more sore palm and loading is more consistent from chamber to chamber. Something so simple makes such a large difference. If you have a short loading lever or just need a little more leverage, you should try this!

Was concerned about using on an 1858 Remington with 5 1/2" barrel, but the fit is good. Should also be fine on an 8" barrel version.

I bought this after seeing on a video of it on YouTube. I have a 5 and 1/2 inch barrel 1860 Army colt, on the long barrel gun it is no problem to load with my favored load of a .454" ball, but the short rammer on the 5.5 inch gun will eat your hand alive. If you make cartridges the paper just makes it worse, with the Slix Hand shooting got fun again!
