This guide provides step-by-step installation instructions for SliXprings lever springs designed for 1860 Henry, 1866, and 1873 rifles and carbines. These performance springs are designed to improve lever action smoothness, reliability, and cycling consistency.

Installation Instructions

Remove the side plates and existing factory springs.

Inspect the new SliXprings lever springs. Lightly polish any burrs on the ends if necessary before installation.

Position the finger lever spring block over the correct screw hole. Ensure the radiused end faces downward and toward the front of the rifle.

Start the mounting screw and rotate the spring assembly until it is aligned parallel with the rifle’s receiver.

Tighten the screw gradually until desired spring tension is achieved. Ensure the spring tab properly contacts the lever cam surface.

Verify lever operation. The carrier should hold at the top of its stroke under load, but still cycle smoothly with controlled resistance.

Install the carrier lever spring in the same manner and adjust for slight tension.

Check side plate clearance. Adjust spring tab length if necessary to ensure proper fit. Clearance should be minimal without binding.

Reassemble the rifle and test full action function. Fine-tune spring tension based on ammunition and shooting style.
Final Adjustment Notes
Some fitting may be required due to variations in receiver machining and previous action work. Adjust gradually and test frequently for smooth operation.
