The intent purpose of our nipples is to split the cap to help keep it from flying back into the action. We also recommend a lighter load. Heavier loads may require a stronger hammer spring.
Not all reproduction revolvers have the same manufacturing tolerances and this can be an issue with a few. The very simple solution is to file some metal off the forcing cone end and increase the gap between the barrel and cylinder and this problem will go away. Usually what works best is about .015” of gap. Your gun may need a tad more or less.
Make sure you are using Remington #10 or CCI #11 caps. A lightened hammer spring will also remedy this problem.
