Since I switched to these nipples I have never had a miss fire!!!

Have three sets of these nipples on my uberti's 1851,1861,and 1860 revolvers. Nice tight cap fit on the nipples and increased reliability. Reduces cap jams overall as well. Uberti's stock nipples are pretty bad, and these upgraded nipples make the guns what they should be. Thanks!

I TOOK MY BRAND NEW UBERTI STAINLESS 1858 NEW ARMY TO THE RANGE & ONLY 3 OUT OF 6 FIRES THE 1ST ATTEMPT, I INSTALLED SLIX NIPPLES & 6 OUT OF 6 FIRED ON THE 1ST TRY, WHAT A DIFFERENCE THESE NIPPLES MADE IN MY ABILITY TO RELIE THAT MY SHOTS WOULD WORK !!! SO I INSTALLED THESE NIPPLES ON ALL OF MY BP GUNS, (5 IN ALL), IT MADE ALL OM GUNS WORK PROPERLY !!! RUGER OLD ARMY, 2Xs 1858 NEW ARMY, PEPPER-BOC & MY COLT-WALKER !!!!

These are terrific. Put 50 rounds thru my 1851 Pietta Navy so far, and have not had a single cap jam.

The vented holes on the sides break each cap evenly rather than rupturing the "seal" over the nipple, so not only are my jams solved, but I noticed a considerable difference in overall compression (tighter) which led to greater accuracy with each shot.

This upgrade is definitely worth the extra money, thanks!

I have had good results with the slixshots whenever I get a new revolver I order slixshots for it right away if you shoot colt revolvers install slixshots and polish any sharp edges on your hammer face and you will virtually eliminate those irritating cap jams

i installed them on a 1851 Pieta Pepper Box & a 1858 Uberti New Army Rimington , i wonder if they will ignite the powder as well as the originals having a larger hole to ignite the powder ) ? Haven't tryed them out yet ,need a FPS meter to tell 4 sure !!!

I've read numerous forums on how the factory nipples for Pietta black powder revolvers create an effect called "cap suction". I went to YouTube and watched vidoes by Duelist54 and he showed how upgrading to your nipples can rectify this issue.

I have an uberti 1851 navy that kept getting cap jams. Got the slixshot nipples, and completely fixed it. Highly recommend these nipples as a first step to improving your cap n ball revolver.

I have had these for a little over a month, didn't want to write the review until I'd tried both sets (one each for Uberti and Pietta) out.
I can say these are fantastic products and I'll surely be ordering more.

I can't complain about your product, even being almost 36 bucks each set, (July 2021) they're well worth while.

The Slixshot nipples worked well splitting when fired makes for easy removal. The only adjustment was having to grind roughly .010" off of the length to allow the cyclinder to turn freely.

Slick shot nipples are as good and dependable as the hot shots I used to use.

The hardest and strongest nipples I have ever used. Highly recommended !

I was experiencing constant misfires in 2 chambers of my Ruger Old Army cylinder, the cap would go off, but the powder charge would not ignite. I did some research, and found positive results from other shooters switching to SlixSprings. I swapped them out, then fired 6 consecutive cylinders (36 shots) without a problem. Definitely increased reliability, highly recommended.

The nipples I ordered for my pair of 1851 and 1860 army piettas are well made and screwed right in. The problem is all the nipples are a hair too long and upon firing the hammer can't travel far enough forward to reset the lock so when you try to cook the hammer again it locks up the revolver.

A simple phone call to us would have resolved this problem. It’s not that the cones are too tall in the cylinder. They fit 99% of the revolvers out there and provide a dramatic improvement in ignition reliability without any modification. The issue is that your revolver has way too tight of tolerance between the cylinder and the barrel. Simply remove the barrel and file off material on the forcing cone until you achieve a barrel/cylinder gap of .012” to .018” or until you can cycle the gun without it locking up. If we shortened the cone height then the majority of our nipples would be no better than the stock ones which have failure to fire problems. Not all BP revolvers adhere to the same tolerances. Tuning the guns is always a good idea anyway. Also keep in mind that the deeper the wedge is inserted the tighter the cylinder/barrel gap becomes. Another option would be to take it to a competent black powder gunsmith and have it tuned properly.
