MY 5 BLACK POWDER REVOLVERS ALL WHOULD ONLY FIRE OFF 3 OUT OF 6 SHOTS ON THE 1ST TRY , SO I INSTALLED SLIX NIPPLES IN ALL OF THEM , RUGER OLD ARMY, 1858 NEW ARMY REMINGTONS, COLT-WALKER 1847, & A 1851 PEPPER BOX, NOW THEY ALL FIRE ON THE 1ST TRY, WHAT A DIFFERENCE, THEY ARE DEPENDABLE NOW !!!!

I bought these for my Pietta 1851 Navy in .44 to solve my cap jam problem.
Everything about these Slixshots are terrific and money well spent.

Not only have I not had a cap jam with these yet (I'm at about 100 rds and counting), I have noticeably better compression/cleaner fire now that the caps don't tend to split in half, and this equates to better accuracy.
I use the Remington #10 and they are a snug fit but they still work, even though these Slixshots probably do better with #11s

Cleaning these up after firing seem much easier than the stock Pietta nipples, to me the steel cleans up better and at least its easier to spot the areas where there might be residual powder residue.

Very happy with these, they have made my overall experience shooting my revolver that much more enjoyable!

Not sure I would put much stock on my review as I am a rather new cap & ball. I got heavy into BP as primers getting hard to find. Anyhow, I got 1 Dragoon, 2 remmys, 2 1851 Navys, and a Lemat. My first tries with these guns with factory nipples, I experienced nipple problems. Clogging, falling off etc. A quick net search confirms I am the first person in history of cap and ball shooting to ever face these problems. Even my limited knowledge started me to look at the nipples. Got on net and researched many articles and products. I found these (SliX) and liked what I read. Decided to try one set on one gun. Needless to say I ordered 5 more sets. Additionally, being a Veteran run company did it for my first order. The 1858 Rems run 6 shots clean, as with the 1851 Navys. The Lemat runs clean all 9 shots. 20 ga TBD. I don’t know why these nipples are that superior. It works and that works for me. I finally got to a match which had many experienced BP guys and gals. SliX brand is a household word, at least in Northern Nevada. I’m still amazed at how right I got this right. I read some comments that SliX was on the pricey side, don’t believe it. Quality always trumps cheap.

in my 51 navy, that I use for reenacting I can now get all 6 shots off without issues. First time it has worked right.

Great replacement for the stock nipples in my black powder Pietta. Drop in replacement and fit for the #11 caps I use

I bought some for my reproduction 1851 Colt Navy Revolvers and they are very good . I will be buying some for my other C&B revolvers soon.

Pull the stock nipples, save em and use these....

Used on a 2nd gen colt dragoon 3rd model and a pietta 1851 navy this weekend....

Over 80 rounds across both pistols, not one cap suck or jam....

bought a Colt Dragoon 2nd series and no caps would fit tge nipples were too large and track of the Wolf was out and everyone has been saying try slixshot so I ordered them. They say they fit cci 11s winchester11s and rws 1075 all of which I have but they barely fit. The rws wouldn't even fire without at least 2 strikes some of the winchesters the same.Pulled out a micrometer and 2 were a little larger by a couple thou.I chucked them in the drill and took them all down a little with a file and sandpaper so the winchesters and cci fit tight and the rws very tight but they all work 1st strike.I do like how they work now several hundred rds no lose caps and the slixshot really blow the caps off and in half but I wouldn't buy again as I don't want to have to work on somthing I buy and didn't want to have to send them back and wait for another set.Maybe I just got a bad set.

Since I switched to these nipples I have never had a miss fire!!!

Have three sets of these nipples on my uberti's 1851,1861,and 1860 revolvers. Nice tight cap fit on the nipples and increased reliability. Reduces cap jams overall as well. Uberti's stock nipples are pretty bad, and these upgraded nipples make the guns what they should be. Thanks!

I TOOK MY BRAND NEW UBERTI STAINLESS 1858 NEW ARMY TO THE RANGE & ONLY 3 OUT OF 6 FIRES THE 1ST ATTEMPT, I INSTALLED SLIX NIPPLES & 6 OUT OF 6 FIRED ON THE 1ST TRY, WHAT A DIFFERENCE THESE NIPPLES MADE IN MY ABILITY TO RELIE THAT MY SHOTS WOULD WORK !!! SO I INSTALLED THESE NIPPLES ON ALL OF MY BP GUNS, (5 IN ALL), IT MADE ALL OM GUNS WORK PROPERLY !!! RUGER OLD ARMY, 2Xs 1858 NEW ARMY, PEPPER-BOC & MY COLT-WALKER !!!!

These are terrific. Put 50 rounds thru my 1851 Pietta Navy so far, and have not had a single cap jam.

The vented holes on the sides break each cap evenly rather than rupturing the "seal" over the nipple, so not only are my jams solved, but I noticed a considerable difference in overall compression (tighter) which led to greater accuracy with each shot.

This upgrade is definitely worth the extra money, thanks!

I have had good results with the slixshots whenever I get a new revolver I order slixshots for it right away if you shoot colt revolvers install slixshots and polish any sharp edges on your hammer face and you will virtually eliminate those irritating cap jams

i installed them on a 1851 Pieta Pepper Box & a 1858 Uberti New Army Rimington , i wonder if they will ignite the powder as well as the originals having a larger hole to ignite the powder ) ? Haven't tryed them out yet ,need a FPS meter to tell 4 sure !!!

I've read numerous forums on how the factory nipples for Pietta black powder revolvers create an effect called "cap suction". I went to YouTube and watched vidoes by Duelist54 and he showed how upgrading to your nipples can rectify this issue.

I have an uberti 1851 navy that kept getting cap jams. Got the slixshot nipples, and completely fixed it. Highly recommend these nipples as a first step to improving your cap n ball revolver.
