This purchase was for 2 recently acquired cylinders for Ruger Old Armies. I'm acquiring a total of 12 cylinders so I can shoot a 6 stage match day without reloading cylinders. Yes, that means a total of over $400 in nipples alone, not for everyone.
I have been using nothing but Slixpring nipples since they came out. Their side vents allow lighter hammer springs. Combine that with a properly polished and tuned mechanism, and my out-of-warranty thumb was able to shoot Frontiersman again for several years. I have 8 percussion pistols with these nipples nd won't use anything else. I suggest beginning percussion pistol shooters put these on your guns before you do anything else.

Replaced the manufactured nipples on one of my 1851 Navys. Due to the difficulty in finding #10 percussion caps, especially Remington, I replaced the nipples with Slixspring nipples which hold both the #10 and #11 caps. Already tested with #11 caps and they worked great! Now have to buy another set for the other 1851 Navy!! Great product!!

These are an improvement on the nipples I had been using on my Pietta 1851 .36 caliber revolver. The prior nipples were sold by Traditions, and it would take three or more hammer strikes for the caps to detonate. With the Slixshot nipples, it now only takes 2 strikes for the caps to detonate. It is an improvement, but didn’t really fix the issue I’m experiencing. I’ll probably try to find a new hammer spring now.

I was using Remington no. 10 caps on my New Model Army but I kept losing them. Sometimes I would also get cap jams. After I replaced the nipples with Slixshots all these problems stopped.

I’ve had a Uberti 1858 for over ten years now, and it was a fluke purchase because I liked the way it looked. So it sat on the shelf in a display stand for many years until one day I decided To try it out. So I got the items together and loaded up the cylinder, much to my surprise BP guns have quirks, and not every shot fired! After a few shots I was picking caps out of the stock nipples, and having a hell of a time. Off to the interwebs I went to figure out what went wrong. It didn’t take long to learn which caps and nipples to use. After receiving my order from Slixprings (extremely fast shipping by the way) I swapped them out and have had no problems since! This is a great upgrade for reliability and the stainless cleans up nicely after a fun day of plinking. If I ever get the stainless Buffalo 1858 I’ve got my eye on, this will be the first upgrade before I even load it. I recently put these on my Pietta 1861 Navy. They have worked well with the 4 different caps I've used. Including homemade caps. I will be buying these nipples for my 5 other bp revolvers. So far no cap jams either.

They reduce cap jams. They are well made. I ordered one wrong set and they were replaced with a minimum of inconvenience. Great service, great product.

I was disappointed in the nipples. 27 grains Goex FFFg. .454 ball. I was using CCI #11 caps. Although they produced good ignition, Every 3 of 5 shots blew the caps apart and jammed the revolver. I'm going to experiment and use some #10 caps (if I can find any).

I like the fact that they are made out of Stainless Steel. Anything that helps eliminate cap jams is a good thing.

Great product! They cut way down on cap fouling instantly and hold the #11 caps much tighter that the factory nipples.
