SliX-Driver Four-Tip Hollow-Ground Firearm Screwdriver

Protect firearm screw heads and gain better control during routine maintenance with the original SliX-Driver. This compact firearm screwdriver combines four hollow-ground flat-blade tips with an X-shaped handle for a positive grip and the ability to maintain steady downward pressure while turning.

Unlike ordinary tapered screwdriver blades, SliX-Driver tips are hollow-ground like those found in professional gunsmithing screwdriver sets. This allows a properly sized tip to engage the sides of a compatible screw slot more evenly, helping reduce slipping and damage to the screw head.

All four screwdriver tips are permanently built into the tool, so there are no loose bits to misplace or lose. Simply rotate the SliX-Driver and select the tip that most closely matches the screw slot.

Firearm Compatibility

The SliX-Driver was designed to fit many of the slotted screws commonly found on:

  • Most Colt-clone revolvers
  • Marlin rifles with compatible slotted screws
  • Uberti Model 1866 rifles
  • Uberti Model 1873 rifles
  • Other firearms with compatible screw-slot dimensions

Important Fit Information

The SliX-Driver fits many firearm screws, but it will not fit every screw on every firearm listed above. Screw-slot dimensions can vary between manufacturers, firearm models, individual screws and production years.

Always select the blade that most closely matches both the length and thickness of the screw slot. The blade should seat completely and fit securely without being forced or having excessive side-to-side movement.

Do not force an oversized tip into a screw slot or use a tip that fits excessively loose.

The SliX-Driver is intended for routine maintenance and selected firearm screws. It is not intended to serve as a complete firearm-overhaul tool or replace a full professional gunsmithing screwdriver set.

Why Hollow-Ground Tips Matter

Firearm screws commonly have narrow slots and finished heads that can be damaged by an improperly shaped screwdriver.

A hollow-ground screwdriver tip has straight, parallel working surfaces that contact the vertical sides of the screw slot. This provides more complete engagement and distributes turning pressure more evenly along the walls of the slot.

By comparison, an ordinary tapered screwdriver may contact only the upper edges of the slot. This concentrates pressure in a smaller area and increases the possibility of the blade slipping, deforming the slot or damaging the finished screw head.

Hollow-ground firearm screwdriver tip compared with a standard tapered screwdriver tip inside slotted screw heads
The hollow-ground tip fits squarely inside the screw slot, while the standard tapered tip contacts primarily near the upper edges.

For the best results, always select the SliX-Driver tip that most closely matches the individual screw slot. The blade should seat completely and fit securely without being forced.

Built for Strength and Durability

The SliX-Driver is precision-machined from durable 41L40 alloy steel and heat-treated to a hardness of Rockwell C 42–48.

Heat-treating and hardening help the screwdriver tips resist wear, twisting and deformation during normal use. The durable black oxide finish provides additional surface protection.
