I acquired a unmolested '73 and promptly ordered parts and installed them. I'm not a gunsmith but could follow instructions and didn't need to grind and thin existing springs. I appreciated the ease of fitting these as well as getting hardened screws.

Nice product,but would not fit on my rifle even with bending the springs. The main piece was to wide and would not let the lifter bar function. I would have had to grind a lot off the bar or off of the main body of the spring housing.

I have been using Slixprings for over 15 years.
This is the second time I have put them in my 1873.
Rifle is a bit stiff now , I'm sure it will smooth out again when broke in

After spending countless hours fiddling with every other spring and part of my '73 in a vain attempt to rid it of that hump in the middle of the lever stroke, I installed SliXprings Lever Spring and that did the trick! Smoothed out the stroke, can race gun it sin problemas! I've ordered two of these, one as a backup, so I'll never be without.

I'd give this product 10 stars if it were allowed. After spending countless hours trying to take that 'hump' out of the lever stroke, adjusting everything I could, including Dremeling the standard leaf-style lever lifter springs, found out all I had to do was install this product and now the lever moves as smoothly with the hammer down as with the hammer cocked. Yeee-haaaaaa!

I have a hair trigger on my Uberti 73 now. ;)

I am no gunsmith but I have tried several brands of lever springs. These are the easiest to install and tune. SliXsprings are the only ones I will use or recommend, period!

It appears the installation instructions included with the parts may not have been followed. As clearly stated on our website and in the instructions, this is not a drop-in part and requires custom fitting. We have sold many of these springs, including to professional gunsmiths, and have not experienced a recurring issue with insufficient spring strength.

I have accumulated 5 Uberti 73s over 26 years. 4 have SliXprings lever springs. Two were put in when the stock ones broke. The other were put in by the gunsmiths who built them. The last set installed were pure drop in, no bending or grinding. Adjust with the screws to taste. They don't wear out or get out of adjustment. They're the only ones I buy.

Due to variations in rifle manufacturing, some tuning may be required. As stated in Step 5 of the installation instructions: “Tighten the screw until you achieve the desired pressure, remaining aware of the position of the spring tab on the cam. If the proper location is not apparent when smooth, appropriate pressure is achieved, bend the tab to the best location.”

Excellent product so far. I like the fact that they are a little oversized on the block and the spring length so that they can be tuned exactly to each action. It did not take long with a mill file and 600 grit sand paper to fit them to my 1873 in .44-40. The action feels great!

Fit and finish was excellent with nothing left to keep the fit from being nice and tight. Time will tell if the use of locktight will keep the screw placement as I backed off a bit to gentle out the cycling of the action.

Worked really well in my 73. I had another brand, but these were smoother.

I ordered, a set of special springs with my short stroke kit. Like the Uberti springs it just wasn't where I wanted to be. One too stiff the other not enough. The SlixSprings set was easy to install and could be adjusted just by bending the spring. On the carrier side I am getting that carrier pop that I wanted. SlixSprings from now on.

Broke a Uberti Lever Spring, & my gunsmith told me to get Slixprings lever springs. They are excellent!

I had SliXprings, installed in my rifle several years ago. I immediately noticed improvement in the action. When a friend began to have problems with his rifle, I agreed to look at his rifle. I noticed several problems one of which was the lever springs, I ordered SliXprings and installed them in my friends rifle. I was very happy, but my friend was extremely happy. I recommend SliXprings to anyone interested in improving the operation of their rifle.
